Freediving is still a niche sport, with many freediving schools being little more than an off-shoot of a larger scuba center, that occasionally allows freedivers to practice their static breath holds whenever the bubble blowers finish learning how to clear their masks.

So it’s always refreshing to walk into a freediving center built for and run by freedivers.

FREEDIVE+ in Panglao, Philippines will have four classrooms dedicated to teaching theory and mindfulness strategies, a four-lane 25-meter pool (three lanes will span 15 meters), a small gym, onsite restaurant, yoga shala and stretching area, a large reception area for socializing, and a freedive shop. Divers can stay in one of the ten luxury apartments alongside the freediving center. This is what’s already been completed so far.

FREEDIVE+ is also in the process of building a juice bar, more classrooms, more classrooms, more shops, and more accommodation options. It’s set to be a destination where every aspect of your day can revolve around freediving should you choose. They are planning to host workshops with some of the world’s most renowned freedivers where students can train the specific skills that they may be struggling with.

Courses will be offered from beginner to instructor trainer level (SSI and AIDA). Freedive+ also offers a mermaid academy and swim lessons, making it a great spot for groups of friends with multiple interests and abilities.

Alright, who’s ready to organize a group trip to Freedive+? You don’t have to ask us twice.
