Mona likes to refer to herself as a salty soul. Belonging to a family of shark lovers, marine biologists and underwater filmmakers she grew up in, on, and around the coast of South Africa from a really young age. Today she is a freediver and a divemaster traveling as much and as far she can to explore the underwater world and in search for her break to freedive with whale sharks! She believes that the best way to spark care and curiosity towards the ocean is to tell stories and write about it when she's not diving.
